Post - TX Burlesque Festival in Austin

Meet Amanda. She's an awesome girl that really helped me out this past weekend at the TX Burlesque Fest. One might say she even saved my ass. I know I was incredibly lucky that she was able to roadtrip with me to Austin, help provide me with a place to stay, and be an incredible Booth Buddy. Thank you so much Amanda, you are such a sweet person for helping me out and I really appreciate everything. This was her first experience with burlesque, so seeing 50 performances over 2 days was a great education in the variety of dance styles. She really liked it! We both cheered loudly for the shows, so much so that we nearly lost our voices by Sunday. But always worth it to show our support for the hardworking performers.

I took this shot of my booth on Saturday at the start of the show. I got to chat with and meet so many awesome people this weekend! If you bought something from me, remember to send me photos of you in your DDD fascinator, I'd love to post them up on my blog.

Here's some of my newest designs. They're the classic fascinator on a disk pad. The ivory one in the center is going to a very sweet girl, Brittany T, to be worn on her wedding day! I cannot say how incredibly flattered to have my first bride-to-be as a customer. She has a vintage 1950s ivory wedding dress that is going to look fabulous with the fascinator.

So as with any road trip, Amanda and I stopped for some of the fun sight seeing places along the way. For anyone who makes the Dallas <--> Austin trip regularly, you know allllll about how just north of Waco you have to stop for the Czech food places. We made our pit stop at the Czech Stop for some yummy sausage kolaches. They were delicious! I snapped this photo with my phone of the to die for pastries under the counter.

This photo was taken and sent to my favorite German girl, Courtney Crave. Her response? "mmmmmm sausages" Totally fitting response, I say. Sausage fridge!

Bacon mints? I thought these were more internet myths. Evidently they are real. And I bought a pack for a friend, he's a big fan of the bacon flavored junk online. I'm just morbidly curious enough to want to taste one.... briefly.

Had a blast, thank you everyone that helped put on such a fun show!!
